Called after the fact, the Long Island Express, this hurricane 80 years ago today did a number on the unsuspecting fisherman and inhabitants of New England.
Without all the technology we have today, this hurricane emerged “out of the blue” literally and ravaged the region:

Not only did this CAT3 hurricane make it to New England feeding on the warm Gulf Stream waters on the way in September (without “Global Warming”), there were people in the Weather Bureau that forecast this BUT was not allowed to share this possibility as shown in this article from The Burning Platform. Come to find out, government bureaucracy stunk back then as well:
Charlie Pierce, a junior forecaster in the U.S. Weather Bureau, was sure that the hurricane was heading for the Northeast, but the chief forecaster overruled him. It had been well over a century since New England had been hit by a substantial hurricane, and few believed it could happen again. Hurricanes rarely persist after encountering the cold waters of the North Atlantic. However, this hurricane was moving north at an unusually rapid pace–more than 60 mph–and was following a track over the warm waters of the Gulf Stream.
The news of the day was more focused on the tensions in Europe in the pre-WWII era, and so this major hurricane stayed out of the news until September 21st:
With Europe on the brink of war over the worsening Sudetenland crisis, little media attention was given to the powerful hurricane at sea. There was no advanced meteorological technology, such as radar, radio buoys, or satellite imagery, to warn of the hurricane’s approach. By the time the U.S. Weather Bureau learned that the Category 3 storm was on a collision course with Long Island on the afternoon of September 21, it was too late for a warning.
Between 2:30pm and 11pm that night, the Long Island Express made its impression on New England:
In Milton, south of Boston, the Blue Hill Observatory recorded one of the highest wind gusts in history, an astounding 186 mph. Boston was hit hard, and “Old Ironsides”–the historic ship U.S.S. Constitution–was torn from its moorings in Boston Navy Yard and suffered slight damage. Hundreds of other ships were not so lucky.
The hurricane lost intensity as it passed over northern New England, but by the time the storm reached Canada around 11 p.m. it was still powerful enough to cause widespread damage. The Great New England Hurricane finally dissipated over Canada that night.
So what to do with this? For one, do your own research when the “news” says anything. For two, know your history so you can counter the prevailing voices that insist that they are the experts for all current events. For three, don’t just accept the “news”, for your sake, your friends’ sake or for your kid’s sake .. they all need to know the truth, be that beacon of light.
I really do think there is a lot of “group-think”, not unlike what happened with 9/11, going on. Multiple departments of the government, and entities tied closely with the government (including major media) do their best to predict this “super-storm” in the middle of “global-warming” that had everyone implying the overheated oceans would let the CAT4 hurricane in North Caroline.
The Global Warming community has been at it for some time now, even saying to President Bush that this threat was worse than “terrorism” according to this The Burning Platform article:
A secret report by the US defense chiefs warned President Bush that Global Warming was such a great threat that it would destroy the United States and major European cities. They told the President that cities would sink beneath rising seas and Britain would be plunged into a “Siberian” climate by 2020. They warned that mega-droughts, famine, and widespread rioting will erupt across the world. The document warned that the planet would fall into anarchy and the nuclear threat would rise as countries then sought to defend themselves in the face of declining food, water, and energy supplies.
OK then. Fast forward a few decades and you now have a whole generation of climate specialists trying to predict the path and the strength of this hurricane, and they blew it! Dr. Tim Ball in this article explains:
With Florence, they got almost everything wrong. The computer model predictions of the path and strength were wrong even in such a short distance and in 48 hours; a period for which they claim a high level of accuracy. They claimed the hurricane path was very unusual because it was further north than usual. No, it wasn’t. I was in Bermuda in the early 1960s when we were forced to evacuate because of a hurricane moving in.
OK, so they got some history wrong, but wait, there is more!
… the NOAA forecast ignored … major mechanisms. One was the presence of colder water as Florence moved north. The fuel source for a hurricane is the latent heat of evaporation carried up and released as sensible heat after condensation. Estimates are that a moderate hurricane, like Florence, evaporates 2 billion gallons of water an hour. This is why, when the system moves over land it dissipates very quickly. Another was the three-dimensional dynamics of a system that stretches from the surface to the Tropopause. That very distinct boundary is twice as high over the Equator (approximate average, 18 km) as it is over the Poles (approximate average, 8 km). This means the system gets flattened out as it moves north, which explains why Florence became much wider. As it widens the wind speed diminishes … Very simply, the speed of rotation is determined by the radius of the mass from the axis of rotation. The combination of the energy in the system and the reduced speed of rotation served to alter the path the system takes. The Coriolis Effect is changed, which is partly why they got the direction wrong in such a short distance.
Yes, again there is MORE!
Unseen in all this, is the role insurance companies played in this history of this exploitation.
Say it isn’t so .. but wait .. never mind, you get the picture:
… with the misinformation and unadulterated exploitation of hurricane Florence by alarmists and the media. Attempts to present the hurricane as abnormal and link it to climate change were naked and almost desperate. It reached a nadir when the Washington Post wrote,
“Yet when it comes to extreme weather, Mr. Trump is complicit. He plays down humans’ role in increasing the risks, and he continues to dismantle efforts to address those risks. It is hard to attribute any single weather event to climate change. But there is no reasonable doubt that humans are priming the Earth’s systems to produce disasters.“
Oh no!
OK, let’s back up here. On Wednesday the 12th, the “experts” had Florence at a CAT4 and entering SC/NC with that strength, and other reports indicated that there were 80 foot waves in the open ocean with this global warming produced super-storm. However, things started unraveling pretty quickly:
By Wednesday evening they already downgraded Florence from a Category 4 to a Category 2, and it came ashore barely as a Category 1. In fact, it was amusing to see how long they continued to report it with wind speeds of 75 mph because if it was 74 mph, it was no longer a hurricane. NOAA control the wind speed determinations with their estimates from one or two flights above the hurricane from which, using models they estimate surface speed. We know these are consistently higher than reality, but a higher speed allows for a higher hurricane category and greater media attention.
Can you believe it? Fake news to keep the media abuzz with the “abnormal” nature of this event. But, how abnormal is this really?
The list of North Carolina hurricanes where Florence hit prior to 1900 yields a list of 139 tropical cyclones/hurricanes. In fact, North Carolina was hit by 7 storms during 1893 ALONE!!!!! … The worst hurricane season on record still remains 1893 before “Global Warming”. The 1893 Atlantic hurricane season had 12 tropical storms of which 10 became hurricanes. Then of the 10 hurricanes, FIVE became major hurricanes. Two of those storms kill over 2,000 people each. The 1893 season remains the most deadly storm season in American history.
OK, that was just one year .. but wait, there’s more!
The second season on the list was the 1998 Atlantic hurricane season, where there were 4 Atlantic hurricanes that were active on the same day. The hurricane season is at its peak in August to October. Records before 1851 are really spotty. We do know that the Spanish Treasure Fleet of 11 ships were sunk in a hurricane during 1715, which is believed to be a category 4+.
See the trend. Neither do I.
Back to the REAL factors that can be seen in the destructive nature of hurricanes (remember, even the French in 1782 LEFT the Caribbean during hurricane season to assist the Americans at Yorktown, as they did not want their fleet battered by this seasonal beast):
Over time more and more people moved into the hurricane-prone region and suffered the consequences. All of the more severe consequences resulted from the enabling and false sense of security created by government and insurance companies. For example, two of the greatest loss of lives involved Galveston, Texas and New Orleans. In 1900, an estimated 12,000 people drowned in Galveston because an earthen dam failed. Authorities dramatically downplayed the loss of lives for political and economic reasons. In 2005, hurricane Katrina came ashore at New Orleans, and 1833 people died, most from the flooding. They were behind a dike that the US Army Corps of Engineers sought to fortify but were blocked by environmental groups. Katrina, like Florence, was hyped and even today Wikipedia still says,
“Hurricane Katrina was an extremely destructive and deadly Category 5 hurricane that struck the Gulf Coast of the United States in August 2005.”
In fact, Katrina was barely Category 3 when it came ashore…

Also, about insurance companies:
Perhaps the most egregious distortion created by the insurance industry was the claim that hurricanes were increasing in intensity. It turned out the data they used was the increasing cost of claims. Of course, this was almost all due to the increasing gouging for materials and labor before and after the event.
Fake, fake, … fake, fake, fake
The bottom line is that:
[Global Warming] is the biggest fake news story of all created and perpetuated by the bureaucrats who are the deep state. A single small moderate and normal hurricane named Florence demonstrated the level of deceptions across the social and political spectrum. We need to ask how much longer can people who consistently get their forecasts wrong, retain credibility and keep their jobs?
Maybe it is my heritage DNA, but in some areas I tend to be pragmatic (strong beliefs, loosely held) when it comes to PCs, as well as a bit frugal in that I am not fond of throwing away something that has potential value.
Above you will see my wife’s old (vintage 2010) Dell PC that had been running Windows 7 when it finally would not load the OS maybe 2 years ago. We bought a replacement Lenovo PC that had Windows 8 on it in 2016 and earlier this year due to some Windows 10 frustrations we bought yet another PC, this one a Dell with Windows 10 on it “out of the box”.
All this to say that just a few minutes ago, on the Lenovo PC, that since my wife’s frustrations with reboots happening with no warning, CPU fan running hot because some Microsoft process (that does not always show up in Process Manager) is busy, or MS Photos is making an album that NO ONE asked for .. was killing my Hewlett Packard scanning software every 30 minutes. Come to find out, it is an W10 update that MS wants to push to my PC so bad that instead of telling me, it just upsets my PC to the point that I have to look for the root issue:
OK. So this happened on a PC that I had earlier this year placed a FRESH W10 OS on from scratch. What good is an unstable OS that prioritizes its agenda over the user’s?
Back to the pragmatic part, just this week I finally took at look at my wife’s oldest laptop (Dell vintage 2010) and tried to “repair” the OS. After a few days of being able to clean up the hard disk drive (HDD) from bad disk areas (using “chkdsk”) ..
.. I still was not able to repair the Windows 7 operating system enough to have it boot successfully. I was however able to navigate through the hard drive contents with DOS to ensure that there was nothing on this HDD that I did not already have somewhere else.
SO I decided to try and install Linux on this old PC and use Linux tools to identify/repair/ignore the bad spots on this old HDD. Having a background in UNIX from the 1990s and Linux since 2005 helps, but as you will see below, there are Internet resources that make this pretty much plug and play. The decision to go Linux is:
There is NO costs (other than ones time) to try this (Windows requires payment for the OS whether you can use it or not)
There is MUCH more control over WHEN or IF your PC get OS updates!
Following the information at this page, one has all the step necessary to put Linux on any PC that has 2GB RAM, functioning HDD and preferably a good USB port (instead of loading the OS via a DVD drive which is much more prone to errors):
From here I downloaded a few pieces of software to my existing W10 PC so I could created a boot-able USB stick .. one of which was Etcher which does the job like a champ:
Following the instructions it was great to see the old PC come back to life!
While I did have to accomplish some post installation fixes due to my defective HDD using Linux’s “fsck” tool, reloading the Linux Mint 19.1 OS one last time was a great milestone in “redeeming” this old laptop for future value.
After test driving this Linux laptop for a few months, I have another, newer W10 PC laptop that might be in line for this process.
A side-note, for those that might be resistant to break totally from Windows, there is a Linux package called “Wine” that will give you a Windows experience on your Linux PC. How is THAT for open-source marketing?

We have been told many lies since 9/11, and IF you apply simple logic, you can see where this may lead. Maybe the US is protecting the civilians, but why didn’t they in Aleppo last year? Maybe the US is protecting al Qaeda. If so, what does that say about saving the very clan that according to the US government DID 9/11?
However, this would make MANY (a vast majority) people uncomfortable, because it upsets the worldview they have come to accept from one god ( the state) or the other god (their religion).
In my last post about Pearl Harbor, and the lies told in the run up to that “Day that will live in infamy” December 7th, 1941, it took several generations to really unpack and research documents that have shown us the truth of that day, two generations later? What will our kids and grand-kids find in declassified documents in 2070 in regards to 9/11? On the other hand, will we have to wait that long for truth to be unveiled?
So here we are in 2018 seeing the final push by Syria/Russia/Iran and the Hezbollah troops on the ISIS/alQaeda forces, an effort that tests the US foreign policy in the extreme:

What about the 14 year war in Iraq (2004 invasion / Gulf War II)? Iraq as a nation is very week and basically divided and impotent in this region and is not a threat to anyone.

From 2011-2015 the US was “fighting” ISIS in Syria, they claimed, but it was also noted that the US assisted in training ISIS and other moderate rebels in Jordan to get ready for phase 2 of the ISIS tour in the Middle East. All told, more than 250,000 combatants arrived from overseas to fight against the Syrian Arab Republic:
Not until 2015, when the Russians were invited by Syria’s President Assad to assist in battling ISIS/al Qaeda and other “moderate” rebel groups, did the US hand start to be seen clearly. The US (along with UK/Qatar/SaudiArabia and even Israel) were secret supporters of ISIS/al Qaeda.
Since 2015 is is interesting as much as ISIS/al Qaeda has been pressed, they do not enter Israel (although Israel has been observed aiding ISIS units across the borders in the Middle East).
The US apparently has not been in the Middle East since 1990 and then in Afghanistan (2001), Iraq (2004), and Syria (2011) with a mission to “fight” al Qaeda (50 – 100 members at the time in 2001 when accused of 9/11) , or the Taliban, or ISIS.
Who is there left to PROTECT in the Middle East?

There is no other way to look at this except that the Zionist nation of Israel needs the US Empire to accomplish the long-distance “defense” of their “homeland”.
Words matter. In 2001, there were still many alive that lived through the shock of 07DEC1941 when the Japanese navy pulled off a “surprise” attack on Pearl Harbor. The vast majority of the people had either been taught in school or had read all the papers of the day, or the radio broadcasts that it was a “day in infamy” according to FDR.
Well:

Just because 90% or more agree on something does not make it the truth. Sure Japanese Zeros bombed helpless sailors on the various ships in Pearl Harbor, and THEY and their commanders were surprised, but Washington DC was not. From this New American article:
Comprehensive research has shown not only that Washington knew in advance of the attack, but that it deliberately withheld its foreknowledge from our commanders in Hawaii in the hope that the “surprise” attack would catapult the U.S. into World War II. Oliver Lyttleton, British Minister of Production, stated in 1944: “Japan was provoked into attacking America at Pearl Harbor. It is a travesty of history to say that America was forced into the war.”
Just a little bit of research on the chain of events will show first that FDR preferred to get a war started with Germany:
During World War II’s early days, the president offered numerous provocations to Germany: freezing its assets; shipping 50 destroyers to Britain; and depth-charging U-boats. The Germans did not retaliate, however. They knew America’s entry into World War I had shifted the balance of power against them, and they shunned a repeat of that scenario.
I can’t help but think that Russia’s patience with US provocations in 2018 is something learned from these early days of WWII.
So when FDR can’t get Hitler to “bite” …
FDR therefore switched his focus to Japan. Japan had signed a mutual defense pact with Germany and Italy (the Tripartite Treaty). Roosevelt knew that if Japan went to war with the United States, Germany and Italy would be compelled to declare war on America — thus entangling us in the European conflict by the back door. As Harold Ickes, secretary of the Interior, said in October 1941: “For a long time I have believed that our best entrance into the war would be by way of Japan.”
Basically, the strategy to entice Japan into a war with the United States that emerged, according to Gary North in this Lew Rockwell article:
In October, 1940, Lieutenant Commander Arthur McCollum, an Annapolis graduate who was fluent in Japanese, wrote a 5-page memorandum. He was with the Office of Naval Intelligence. He outlined an 8-point strategy on how to get Japan to attack the United States, thereby enabling the United States to defeat Japan…
McCollum was a missionary kid, knew Japan and its culture well and knew that the Japanese Empire could be goaded into this:
Over the next year, seven of the eight points were followed by the President. The sixth was already in place: keeping the Pacific Fleet in Hawaii, which the Fleet’s commander, Admiral Richardson, strongly opposed. The day after McCollum wrote his memo, Roosevelt informed Richardson that the fleet would remain at Pearl. Richardson vocally opposed the plan one more time. He was replaced by Kimmel the following February [1941] …
It was one thing to make the Japanese empire desperate by:
… freezing her [Jamap’s] assets in America; closing the Panama Canal to her shipping; progressively halting vital exports to Japan until we finally joined Britain in an all-out embargo; sending a hostile note to the Japanese ambassador implying military threats if Tokyo did not alter its Pacific policies; and on November 26th — just 11 days before the Japanese attack — delivering an ultimatum that demanded, as prerequisites to resumed trade, that Japan withdraw all troops from China and Indochina, and in effect abrogate her Tripartite Treaty with Germany and Italy.
.. it is another thing to make sure there was an “open door” to give to the Japanese navy to attack Pearl Harbor through.
First, by breaking the Japanese code in 1940 gave Washington DC (but not Pearl Harbor) the details of the buildup to war and Japanese military movements:
One of the most important elements in America’s foreknowledge of Japan’s intentions was our government’s success in cracking Japan’s secret diplomatic code known as “Purple.” Tokyo used it to communicate to its embassies and consulates, including those in Washington and Hawaii. The code was so complex that it was enciphered and deciphered by machine. A talented group of American cryptoanalysts broke the code in 1940 and devised a facsimile of the Japanese machine.
Second, a corridor was established:
On November 25th, approximately one hour after the Japanese attack force left port for Hawaii, the U.S. Navy issued an order forbidding U.S. and Allied shipping to travel via the North Pacific. All transpacific shipping was rerouted through the South Pacific. This order was even applied to Russian ships docked on the American west coast.
The purpose is easy to fathom. If any commercial ship accidentally stumbled on the Japanese task force, it might alert Pearl Harbor. As Rear Admiral Richmond K. Turner, the Navy’s War Plans officer in 1941, frankly stated: “We were prepared to divert traffic when we believed war was imminent. We sent the traffic down via the Torres Strait, so that the track of the Japanese task force would be clear of any traffic.”
… During the week before December 7th, naval aircraft searched more than two million square miles of the Pacific — but never saw the Japanese force. This is because Kimmel and Short had only enough planes to survey one-third of the 360-degree arc around them, and intelligence had advised (incorrectly) that they should concentrate on the Southwest.
Thirdly, all other intelligence gathered in the months leading up to the “surprise” attack on Pearl was kept away from Pearl’s commanders:
On January 27th, our ambassador to Japan, Joseph Grew, sent a message to Washington stating: “The Peruvian Minister has informed a member of my staff that he has heard from many sources, including a Japanese source, that in the event of trouble breaking out between the United States and Japan, the Japanese intended to make a surprise attack against Pearl Harbor with all their strength….”
Congressman Martin Dies would write: “Early in 1941 the Dies Committee came into possession of a strategic map which gave clear proof of the intentions of the Japanese to make an assault on Pearl Harbor. The strategic map was prepared by the Japanese Imperial Military Intelligence Department. As soon as I received the document I telephoned Secretary of State Cordell Hull and told him what I had. Secretary Hull directed me not to let anyone know about the map and stated that he would call me as soon as he talked to President Roosevelt…
Dusko Popov was a Yugoslav who worked as a double agent for both Germany and Britain. His true allegiance was to the Allies. In the summer of 1941, the Nazis ordered Popov to Hawaii to make a detailed study of Pearl Harbor and its nearby airfields. The agent deduced that the mission betokened a surprise attack by the Japanese. In August, he fully reported this to the FBI in New York. J. Edgar Hoover later bitterly recalled that he had provided warnings to FDR about Pearl Harbor, but that Roosevelt told him not to pass the information any further and to just leave it in his (the president’s) hands…
In Java, in early December, the Dutch Army decoded a dispatch from Tokyo to its Bangkok embassy, forecasting attacks on four sites including Hawaii. The Dutch passed the information to Brigadier General Elliot Thorpe, the U.S. military observer. Thorpe sent Washington a total of four warnings. The last went to General Marshall’s intelligence chief. Thorpe was ordered to send no further messages concerning the matter. The Dutch also had their Washington military attaché, Colonel Weijerman, personally warn General Marshall.
Captain Johann Ranneft, the Dutch naval attaché in Washington, who was awarded the Legion of Merit for his services to America, recorded revealing details in his diary. On December 2nd, he visited the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI). Ranneft inquired about the Pacific. An American officer, pointing to a wall map, said, “This is the Japanese Task Force proceeding East.” It was a spot midway between Japan and Hawaii. On December 6th, Ranneft returned and asked where the Japanese carriers were. He was shown a position on the map about 300-400 miles northwest of Pearl Harbor. Ranneft wrote: “I ask what is the meaning of these carriers at this location; whereupon I receive the answer that it is probably in connection with Japanese reports of eventual American action…. I myself do not think about it because I believe that everyone in Honolulu is 100 percent on the alert, just like everyone here at O.N.I.”
On November 29th, Secretary of State Cordell Hull secretly met with freelance newspaper writer Joseph Leib. Leib had formerly held several posts in the Roosevelt administration. Hull knew him and felt he was one newsman he could trust. The secretary of state handed him copies of some of the Tokyo intercepts concerning Pearl Harbor. He said the Japanese were planning to strike the base and that FDR planned to let it happen…
Even this:
I think that makes the point loud and clear. This is so very similar to how the Deep State today keeps its own “sub-agenda” to itself and plays the US military, plays the American people into a rush to “patriotism” when other nations get deceived towards a conflict with the US.
Note how the sailors at Pearl were USED as sitting ducks JUST SO the US could enter WWII “justified” and in “honor”.
However, none of this information was passed to our commanders in Hawaii, Kimmel and Short, with the exception of Ambassador Grew’s January warning, a copy of which reached Kimmel on February 1st. To allay any concerns, Lieutenant Commander McCollum — who originated the plan to incite Japan to war — wrote Kimmel: “Naval Intelligence places no credence in these rumors. Furthermore, based on known data regarding the present disposition and deployment of Japanese naval and army forces, no move against Pearl Harbor appears imminent or planned for in the foreseeable future.”
So Japan was maneuvered into this move, not unlike the Confederates were towards firing the first shot at Ft. Sumter when Lincoln tried to send ships and troops into the Charleston Harbor in April 1861:
On Sunday, December 7, 1941, Japan launched a sneak attack on the U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor, shattering the peace of a beautiful Hawaiian morning and leaving much of the fleet broken and burning. The destruction and death that the Japanese military visited upon Pearl Harbor that day — 18 naval vessels (including eight battleships) sunk or heavily damaged, 188 planes destroyed, over 2,000 servicemen killed — were exacerbated by the fact that American commanders in Hawaii were caught by surprise.
So because of the lies from WWII that have remained embedded in the American psyche for over 60 years as of 2001, these same references could be reused right after 9/11, scripted to conjure up the feelings of surprise and betrayal.
James Corbett, in this article, outlines one of the other phrases used to trigger these feelings and align the American public on the “noble” path the US government would have to take:
“Never forget.”
This is the mantra. The mantra that is repeated in the wake of every major false flag, every psychologically traumatizing incident that the deep state wishes to become a rallying cry for their next agenda item.
The ONLY way to break this multi-generational hold the Federal/US government has on the American citizens is to research for truth.
Yes it is hard work, yes it will take time and NO there is no one that will do this work for you, for your family or for your community. YOU could just stand up to the lies that have existed 7 (US is fighting ISIS), 13 (Iraq Invasion), 17 (9/11), 54 (Vietnam – Gulf of Tonkin), 55 (JFK Assassination), 77 (Pearl Harbor/WWII), 103 (RMS Lusitania/WWI), 120 (USS Maine in Havana Harbor / Spanish American War), 157 (Fort Sumter/ Southern Started Civil War), 231 (coup d’etat/US Constitution) years ago.
